Meet the Griswold family there's Clark, Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo) and their two children Rusty and Audrey where everywhere they go they seem to find trouble or get them selves in sticky situation. So this year instead of taking a vacation away, for this holiday season they decide to stay at home. Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) is a real family man. He's been working hard all year and is looking forward to spending quality time with his family and all he wants is everything to go right this Christmas. He is really looking forward to receiving his bonus from work, As he is going to surprise his family with installing a pool next year but with the pool company wanting a down payment and not having enough to cover the cheque he paid out to them he really needs that bonus. Meanwhile all the festiveness of the season is upon the Griswold house hold, the tree Christmas dinner buying present and a full household makes for a happy family Christmas. Well this is the Griswold and no matter how hard they try there's always something that makes for a disaster and nothing has changed. Road rage, family arguments, The over sized biggest tree, dinner disaster and outdoor lights that will not switch on. Oh and that not forgetting Cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) who is a uninvited guest and his family, The free loader who hasn't got one present for his children and who has no manners and adding to the numbers makes for an overflowing house full of people. With all this mayhem you can just tell this is going to be a funny and hilarious movie that will soon become a Christmas family classic that you will want to watch every Christmas.
